NATURAL WONDER: After the Winter Solstice we can celebrate almost three more minutes of light each and every day!
NEW YEAR’S GUIDED IMAGING MEDITATION—3 minutes
BREATHE, SIMPLY BREATHE
Plant your feet solidly on the ever-receptive Earth. Place your left hand on your Deep Belly or bottom of your stomach just below your belly-button. Place your right hand over your Solar Plexus or“sun center” just below your breastbone. Gently holding and warming these places, inhale from your Deep Belly expanding your relaxed lower abdomen.
Don’t worry, you are doing this just as you should.
With your lids closed, gently turn your eyes toward your Third Eye, the spot just above your physical eyes. This is all it takes for a human to be in a receptive, healing Altered state. It’s that simple!
You are doing beautifully and are ready to focus on your natural and energizing breathing.
Continue drawing natural, soft deep breaths from your Deep Belly. Just notice if there is any momentary “catch” or tight spot along the way, as your breath fills and expands each place. See how your breath rises from the point under your left hand, just above your pelvic bone flowing up to your right hand, filling the top of your lungs at your solar plexus. Now--let yourself exhale from the solar plexus backwards, all the way down to the bottom of your Deep Belly.
Follow this process through 5-10 inspirations and exhalations of breath.
This is it! All yogis, athletes, meditators, infants and wisefolk know this is the ultimate way to soothe and stimulate, to pause and poise the human body, psyche and spirit. Allowing yourself this simple though powerful process is the beginning and the final accomplishment of relaxation, rejuvenation and guided imaging. This is a process to return to, no matter how sophisticated you are as a meditation practitioner. In fact, if you practice this breathing process for 3 minutes, 10 times per day for 7 days—you will experience benefits similar to someone who has been practicing meditation for 7 MONTHS!
Nothing is lost! It’s never too late!
This is the foundation for all of our future INNERSANCTUARY Meditations together.
